Teachers will learn a variety of formative assessment tools as well as specific methods that will improve student learning as well as guide future instruction. By using formative assessment in efficient and effective ways, teachers can differentiate instruction to specifically target students who need more intervention or intervention in certain areas. The formative assessment tools will include a variety of different tools such as Pear Deck, Google Forms, Socrative, Quizlet, Padlet, Recap, Gooru, and Quizizz.
While teachers will be given a variety of tools to formatively assess students, there will also be a focus on best practice and specific methods and strategies on how formative assessment will increase student outcomes. The research proven strategies that will be focused on are spaced practice, effortful retrieval, and interleaving. Teachers will leave this session with ready to use formative assessments that will demonstrate their learning of formative assessment tools and strategies.
