In this Snapshot, presenters will discuss the inclusion of Skype conversations with experts, Mystery Skype, and global collaboration projects in the secondary classroom. They will answer many of the questions secondary teachers ask before engaging in these activities and will provide creative solutions to many obstacles present in the secondary classroom. Presenters will outline some of the many global projects that they have participated in and will detail the positive effects of these interactions including student-initiated action campaigns/fundraisers. Attendees will gain an understanding of Skype in the Classroom and the many ways to create, participate in, and schedule a virtual field trip, collaboration activity, and Mystery Skype. Teachers will walk away with resources and concrete examples of global projects and ways to implement them into their curriculum and school year.
