According to the Department of Education, competency-based learning programs can increase productivity, engage students, and make better use of technology.   As CBL programs take hold, there is a growing belief that student success depends more on self-perception than learning styles or innate ability.   Many educators are still tweaking the most effective way to interject technology into this mix.
This session will examine these claims through the lens of actual practitioners, including teachers, administrators, and students. In addition, we will explore:
●    What do good competency-based learning programs look like? What are the challenges and risks associated with moving to this model?
●    What does a growth mindset classroom really look like?  How is it implemented?
●    What does recent learning research tell us about deep learning, retention, and student growth?
