It is the new way of teaching, but how do you integrate all the subjects so that it becomes a cohesive learning paradigm based on real-world applications? It can be overwhelming. We have created a presentation on ways to get started with Makespace/STEAM and how to run the classroom from Kindergarten - 4th grade and then differently from 5th - 8th grade. For the lower grades, how do we build the skills needed to become a maker? For older students, how can we challenge students to choose projects that push them beyond their comfort zone and how do we teach so many facets of STEAM to students while everyone in class is working on so many different projects. We will give resources and tips on how to conduct a self-paced class and ideas for STEAM. We also will have student examples of finished products that will be displayed for parents in our end of year STEM Showcase.

I am expanding my teaching opportunities this year by teaching an introductory course in Artificial Intelligence to first and second grade students. I would love to share what I've learned so far!
