Literature circles/book clubs have been around for a long time, but how can we make them relevant for today’s students? In this session, participants will learn how to use tools such as Flipgrid, twitter, and G Suite to enhance every aspect of the lit circle process. We’ll discuss how to choose books, organize class time, and facilitate discussion, writing, and projects using tools that engage students. Lit circles don’t have to be overwhelming for the teacher and boring for the students: through small round table discussions, written chats and reflections, and creative project-based learning, I’ll show you how to make book clubs cool again!
