Cybersecurity Threats facing K-12 and How to Effectively Protect your Network and Students

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Staff from Illinois Century Network (ICN) will discuss security trends, insights and new threat vectors for the K-12 community. Topics will include impact on K-12, ICN lessons learned from responding to attacks, overview of ICN’s enhanced security protection capabilities, and mitigation techniques and strategies for ICN customers. Distributed denial of service attacks will be looked at in depth as well as new threats, such as cyber extortion. This session is of particular importance given that attacks are no longer the domain of elite hackers, but rather can be easily launched by those with limited technical skills, with the results severely impairing K-12 operations.
