Dr. Alvey completed his undergraduate degree in general science education at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign in 1992, followed by his Master's Degree in Educational Administration from Illinois State University in 1998, his Superintendent's Endorsement from Western Illinois University in 2001, and his Doctorate from Argosy University in 2005. Dr. Alvey is currently in his 25th year in education and has taught 6th-12th grade science, served as middle school principal, and superintendent. Dr. Alvey is in his 16th year as superintendent, overall, and in his 4th year at Illini Bluffs Unit District #327, in Glasford, IL, near Peoria, IL. He previously served as superintendent of Elmwood District #322 and Limestone Walters District #316. Illini Bluffs is a small, rural district serving 1,000 students in grades PreK-12. Illini Bluffs has deployed Chromebooks in a 1:1 initiative, and has been working through the Future Ready Framework since January 2017.
