Shannon Schroeder is a National Board Certified Teacher who teaches eighth grade Language Arts at Homer Jr. High in Homer Glen. She is a Google Certified Trainer and the district instructional technology coach leader. She is passionate about teaching with craftsmanship, meaningful technology integration, and candy! As a technology leader and veteran teacher of 18 years, she is a lifelong learner who explores technology integration and shares her learning through leading workshops and experimenting with new tools and techniques in class. “Share Fearlessly” is a motto that has guided her professional growth. In March of 2017 Shannon received Illinois Computing Educator’s Teacher of the Year Award. Shannon holds a B.A. in English Composition and Secondary Education from DePauw University, an M.S. in Secondary Education from Indiana University, and an M.S. from Olivet University in Curriculum and Instruction with a leadership endorsement. She is married to Jim, and mom to Maggie, Jack, and Tommy. Her black lab, Shadow, is usually right where she belongs-underfoot.
