Kerri Young

Marion Unit #2
Digital Literacy Teacher
Marion, IL
Kerri Young is a digital literacy teacher in the Southern Illinois community of Marion. She is currently in her 15th year of teaching and loves introducing her primary students to the wonderful world of technology. Prior to this assignment, she taught one year of 4th/5th grade reading, 12 years of 8th grade language arts, and two years of 2nd grade. During her time at the middle school level, she implemented one of the first Chromebook, one-to-one classrooms in her school. Through this experience, she realized how much technology can enrich and expand the teaching and learning process, and ed-tech has been one of her passions ever since. She is an active part of her district's technology team and loves sharing her knowledge with teachers and students alike. When she's not in the classroom, she enjoys spending time with her husband and her three little boys.
